Warning to People Who Live Near Clayton Valley High School – Watch Out for Vandals!

Claycord - Sun, 02/05/2012 - 18:51

There’s been quite a bit of vandalism around Clayton Valley High School lately.

We’ve heard the campus, as well as homes in the area have been vandalized by unknown suspects, and this weekend, we got the following email from a victim….

I wanted to pass on some info for claycord.com so you could warn people in the area, and maybe see if it’s happening to others.

We’re near Clayton Valley High School, and have had several incidents of vandalism on our private property, including evidence of vandalism to school property left on our lawn, over the past 3 weeks.

The most recent incident was so severe, we’ve filed a police report.

If you see anybody vandalizing property that doesn’t belong to them, be sure to call the police! And don’t be afraid to call the cops if you see a suspicious person on school grounds, especially when it’s dark out!

ATM Card Fraud Continues in Claycord

Claycord - Sun, 02/05/2012 - 18:46

As we’ve told you in the past, if you use your ATM card, you always have to be careful.

Here’s a message we received this weekend from a fellow Claycordian….

I was alerted by my bank today that there was suspicious activity on my bank statement, and they suspected it was fraudulent.

Somebody had acquired my ATM / Debit card information and made a $400 purchase to a company called “New Balance” and also a minor charge to “Yahoo *Wallet”.

Now I know this isn’t breaking news, but I found it interesting when I went into my bank to withdraw cash for the weekend (until my new ATM card arrives), that the bank teller had the same suspicious charges show up on her account.

I was wondering if anybody else in the Claycord community has experienced the same issue. I would really like to know how my information was stolen.

Perhaps if others in the community are dealing with the same issues, it would be possible to track the source of the information leak. I am pretty careful about using my debit card online, but I thought that maybe the gas station scam was up and running again.

Anybody else having this problem?
